Local Liberal Democrats have been continuing their campaign for a 'Fair Deal' for Cheadle's children. Recent figures show that pupils at Kingsway School receive around £1,000 less per pupil each year from government than children at Parrs Wood School just over a mile away in neighbouring Manchester City.

This inequality is due to the way central government divides up education cash.  This unfairness has been repeated across Cheadle under both Conservative and Labour governments.

Local Lib Dems have been lobbying governments for years to change the way they fund local schools to give Cheadle children a fair deal.

Mark Hunter said, "Our schools achieve excellent results but they could do even better if they received a fair deal from government."
