MP digs in for cancer care2.51.38pm UTC (GMT +0000) Mon 6th Nov 2006
Cheadle MP Mark Hunter was on hand this weekend (Saturday 4th November) at Rose Vale Park in Heald Green to take part in the Marie Curie Field of Hope event. B&Q supplied 2,500 daffodil bulbs to support the event to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care. Organised by Friends of Rose Vale Park, the bulb planting gave local people an opportunity to plant a bulb in memory of a loved one who had been lost to cancer. Nationwide, Marie Curie Cancer Care is hoping to plant a million bulbs at over 600 locations in memory of those lost to cancer. Said Mark Hunter, "This is a really imaginative and touching way to remember friends and family as well as raising money for a great cause. Thank you to the Friends of Rose Vale Park and the sponsors who organised the event." ENDS
