Nick Clegg MP

Mark Hunter Liberal Democrat MP for the Cheadle Constituency today backed Nick Clegg, currently the party's shadow Home Secretary, to be the next leader of the Liberal Democrats.

Commenting Mr Hunter said; "I am delighted to be supporting Nick Clegg to be the next leader of the Liberal Democrats. Having worked closely with him on the Home Affairs team I can say that Nick has exactly the right combination of talents to take this party forward to the next general election and beyond.

I believe Nick is the candidate who can reach out beyond the comfort zones of our Party to the broad majority of people who today share liberal values and aspirations.

This is good news for the people I represent in the Cheadle constituency. In Nick Clegg, the Liberal Democrats have a leader who will reach out and represent all local communities without fear or favour."
