Local MP starts Rotary Club Fun Run

10.22.19am BST (GMT +0100) Tue 13th May 2008

Last Sunday (11th May) in Bramhall Park, Cheadle MP Mark Hunter was the special guest at the annual Bramhall and Woodford Rotary Club charity fundraising day, starting the fun runs and judging the fancy dress competition.

The day's activities included a 'fun run' for the juniors and seniors, a fancy dress competition and a duck race, organised by the Bramhall and Woodford Rotary Club, supported by Waitrose and in association with "Cheshire Style".

Speaking at the event Mr Hunter said, "It was really a splendid day, the sun shone, the Hall and its grounds look fabulous and most importantly everybody who came along seemed to enjoy themselves.

As a member of the Bramhall and Woodford Rotary Club I know myself the excellent work they do in raising funds for charities and I want to say well done to everyone involved with helping out on the day. It was a great local effort to raise money for charity and I know that both I and my wife Lesley were delighted to have been invited and enjoyed ourselves enormously."
