Residents of Ack Lane West and surrounding roads have raised speeding and dangerous driving concerns. Many have described it as “an accident waiting to happen.”
People are worried about the safety of children in particular, with many children using the existing and unsuitable refuge crossing as they make their way to nearby schools.
Lib Dems campaigners Tom Morrison and Cllr Ian Powney are calling for new road safety measures now.
Together with local residents we are calling for:
• A full crossing to be installed on Ack Lane West for pedestrians
• A 20 mph hour speed limit along this road for the safety of elderly residents, school children and young families.
• More signage to tackle speeding
Sign the petition below to make our roads safer.
I/we the undersigned call on Stockport Council to provide greater road safety measures along Ack Lane West near the junction with Yew Tree Park Road., including a full pedestrian crossing, a 20mph speed limit and greater signage along the road.
