Mark, Susan Kramer and Professor Tom Cannon at 'Silver Entrepreneurship' launch
Cheadle MP Mark Hunter attended the launch of the Council's 'Silver Entrepreneurship' scheme on Monday. The event at Stockport Town Hall was also attended by Lib Dem Trade & Industry spokesperson, Susan Kramer MP, top academic Professor Tom Cannon from the Manchester Business School as well as local business leaders.
Stockport Council 'Silver Entrepreneurs' scheme is designed to give residents over 50 the opportunity to find out about setting up a business or becoming self employed. The new initiative will offer advice, start up support and networking opportunities.
Mark said "Too often the over 50's are ignored the employment market. This is a very commendable scheme that will help and encourage people to set up their own business and in many cases fulfil life-long dreams."
The first start -up session scheduled in the Cheadle area is on the 8th March, 3pm -7pm at the Together Trust Centre, Schools Hill, Cheadle.
