Mark at the Teddies Picnic

Mark Hunter, MP for Cheadle Constituency, was the special guest at a teddy bears' picnic held at the 'Independent Options' family centre at the Pines on Chester Road, Hazel Grove this Friday (29/06/07).

The 'Independent Options' centre is a free inclusive family centre that aims to provide opportunities for children who have learning disabilities to develop relationships with children who do not have disabilities.

Mark commenting on his visit said:

"It really was tremendous to be able to join the children for their teddy bears' picnic. There were some splendid and obviously much loved teddies on show. I can't recommend the centre enough. It has great facilities, dedicated staff and it is free for people to use.

Most importantly the centre is doing a very valuable job in promoting inclusivity for children with learning disabilities. It is vital that children with learning difficulties have the opportunity to be educated in the mainstream."

The 'Independent Options' centre facilities include an outdoor play area and an indoor playroom stocked with a wide range of toys. Please contact the centre on 0161 456 6502 if you would like more information on joining one of their playgroups.
