Mark and family at Heald Green Festival 2010

Last Saturday 26th June local MP Mark Hunter joined residents at this year's Heald Green Festival, held on the playing field behind the Village Hall on Outwood Road. Held in the blazing sunshine, the day was a great success and was attended by record numbers of local people.

Dozens of local organisations had a stall at the event and the fairground and other sideshows provided a variety of the entertainment for young and old alike. The Mayor of Stockport, Cllr Hazel Lees, was in attendance and Mark Hunter MP presented prizes to local children who were competition winners.

Commenting, Mark said:

"Heald Green Festival is a great community event and date in my diary that I look forward to every year, and it meets - and exceeds - expectations every time. Well done to all concerned!

"The efficient organisation is always matched by a resounding response from local groups and the wider public.

"This year the weather was glorious and I'm sure everyone who came along enjoyed themselves - once again it really was a great day out for all the family."
