Mark with pupils from Queensgate Primary School

Last Wednesday 2 August 2010, local MP Mark Hunter visited Queensgate Primary School in Bramhall to see for himself the excellent project pupils had conducted for Stockport's Young Entrepreneurs competition.

The children at Queensgate decided to produce Stopfordian 'bags for life'. Researching the various landmarks around Stockport, they selected an image of Stockport Town Hall for the bag's design.

The pupils did everything from developing the concept to designing, producing, marketing, selling and working out the finances for the business. They all had a great time and the school looks forward to next year's year five pupils coming forward with another great idea.

Commenting, Mark said:

"It was a joy to visit Queensgate and speak with so many bright individuals about their project.

"The pupils managed to administer each and every stage of the business process - this is a magnificent achievement at such a young age.

"Stockport Young Entrepreneurs competition is an excellent initiative which allows children, from an early age, to gain a full picture of what business is about."
