Cheadle MP Mark Hunter has thanked all those involved in yesterday's Remembrance Sunday services in our community, as thousands of residents turned out to pay their respects for those killed or injured on active service.

Mark, who attended three services himself this year at Cheadle Hulme (10am), Bramhall (11am) and Heald Green (12 noon) said: "I'd like to say a personal 'thank you' to everyone who organised and took part in the various services across our area. It's especially encouraging to see so many younger people attending these days and acknowledging - as we all do - the great debt of gratitude we owe to service men and women past, present and future.

"The Royal British Legion, who are responsible for organising the parades and services, deserve our full support and it was great to see so many local residents turn out yesterday - as usual - to pay tribute to all who serve, or have served, so courageously. We should all be proud of them."
