Last Friday 15th April Business Secretary and Lib Dem MP Vince Cable paid a special visit to the Cheadle area.

Mr Cable engaged in a roundtable discussion with business representatives from the Stockport Chamber of Commerce on the Cheadle Royal business estate, just off Kingsway in Cheadle. The meeting allowed local business leaders the opportunity to ask the Business Secretary about an array of issues, and to learn more about what the Government is doing to support business.

Afterwards, he campaigned in Cheadle Hulme to support Lib Dem local election candidates and to push for a "yes" vote in the AV referendum on May 5th.

Commenting, Mark said:

"I was delighted to welcome back Vince Cable to Cheadle both to listen first-hand to the views and concerns of local business leaders, and to help campaign for a fairer voting system and support our excellent local election candidates.

"It is absolutely vital that the Coalition Government does everything it can to support business - particularly small and medium enterprises - which will be the cornerstone of our country's economic recovery.

"Vince, like me, is also a passionate advocate of electoral reform and it was a pleasure to have him in the constituency to speak of his support for a much fairer voting system, which will put the voters - rather than the politicians - in the driving seat."
