This Tuesday 5th July 2011 local MP Mark Hunter welcomed the Covenant Christian School into Parliament.

Pupils from the Covenant Christian School, which is based in St Andrew's Church in Cheadle Hulme and in Heaton Moor, were taken on a tour of the Houses of Parliament, including the House of Commons and House of Lords.

The students then engaged in a Question and Answer session with Mr Hunter on a wide range of topics. Mr Hunter also secured tickets for the school to allow them to watch the debate in the House of Commons, including questions to the Defence Secretary.

After the visit Mr Hunter said:

"It was good to welcome down the students and staff of the Covenant Christian School to Westminster once again.

"The children seemed to really enjoy the tour of Parliament and they asked some very impressive questions. They were also able to see Defence Secretary William Hague answer questions about some of the biggest global issues."
