Last Saturday 3rd September the annual Cheadle Hulme flower show was in full bloom for the 52nd year running, which was officially opened by Cllr Suzanne Wyatt. Also attending the event were Mark Hunter MP, his wife Lesley and local councillors Lenny Grice and June Somekh.

The Parish Rooms on Church road were packed as local people flocked to see the wide range of fruits, vegetables and preserves exhibited with the best entries winning special prizes. There were also handicraft and photographic classes - all contributing to a very enjoyable occasion.

After the event Mr Hunter commented: "It is fantastic to see for yet another year the passionate enthusiasm the flower show creates. With so many local people behind the show it can only go from strength to strength".

"The Cheadle Hume flower show once again represented all that is good about the local community and I thank all that took part"
