St Ann's Hospice Forty Years AnniversaryOn Sunday 4th September St Ann's Hospice hosted a special 'Duck Race' and family fun day at Bramall Park, held to celebrate the charity's 40th Anniversary. Local MP Mark Hunter was on hand after being invited as a special guest to start the first duck race of the day.

Hundreds of local families came along to enjoy the occasion which saw a number of stalls and entertainment for all ages. The duck races were the highlight, however, as several hundreds of pounds of cash prizes were on offer to all entrants as much needed funds were raised by the charity.

As well as four separate public races - each with up to 1000 ticket holders - there were a number of sponsored races for local companies and supporters, and Mark was one of many who sponsored a duck with a charitable donation.

St Ann's Hospice is holding a range of events across Greater Manchester and Cheshire to celebrate their 40th Anniversary - for more information go to:

Commenting, Mark said:

"The day was a fantastic success - as well as help raise valuable funds for this well loved and highly regarded local hospice, it was an enjoyable event for all those who attended.

"I was delighted to be asked to kick the event off, and am always happy to provide any extra support I can give to such an important cause.

"Congratulations to Jayne Bessant (Chief Executive) and all her team at St Ann's Hospice and all those who helped organise and run such a great event."
