Last Friday (4th October 2011) Cheadle MP and President of Stockport Parkinsons Disease Society Mark Hunter was the special guest at the Parkinsons Disease Society coffee morning and Autumn Fair at the Parkside Social Club on Midland Road, Bramhall.

Parkinsons Disease Society Branch Committee Member, Peter Godfrey, and his team of volunteers welcomed Mr Hunter to the fundraising and social event. Mark spoke with many of the people who attended, and discussed the work of the local branch.

Many people were quick to note the difference having a dedicated nurse has made to the quality of life (and care) for Parkinsons sufferers in Stockport. Mark has also worked with the Parkinsons Disease Society nationally and hosted a special parliamentary reception for them in Westminster last year.

Commenting, Mark said:

"The Parkinsons Disease Society Autumn Fair was another a great success, helping to raise funds and awareness for this excellent charity. It's always a pleasure to be able to support their valuable work in our community.

"I would like to pass on my thanks to the event's organisers who as always manage to create a great atmosphere at this well supported annual event."
