Mark at the new plant

Last Friday 16th March local MP Mark Hunter officially opened BurrBaxter Printing Ltd's new factory in Brookfield Business Park off Brookfield Road in Cheadle. Local Councillors June Somekh and Paul Porgess were also in attendance.

After touring the new facility, Mark joined with business partners and local residents Stephen Burr and Adam Baxter to unveil a special plaque to mark the launch of the print engineering plant, which they acquired following a very successful business year in 2011. Exelby Developments who carried out the building work to the new factory were also at the opening.

Burrbaxter is an environmentally friendly company who specialise in many print areas including operational print, transactional print, computer print, laser and impact. It has expanded significantly whilst working in partnership with many of the UK's leading private and public sector organizations.

The factory opens as new research reveals that the proportion of new business start ups in Stockport has increased more than anywhere else in North West of England over the last two years.

Commenting, Mark said:

"I was delighted to be asked to officially open BurrBaxter's fantastic new facility in Cheadle last week. It was great to meet the staff and see for myseld their new premises.

"Stephen Burr and Adam Baxter have carried out an extremely impressive job with excellent results, and it was a real pleasure to join them at the beginning of the next phase of their journey. I wish them, and all concerned with the company, every good wish for the future."

Commenting, Stephen Burr said:

"It was a great encouragement to all the team that Mark Hunter was able to make time available to take a personal interest in the development of just one of Stockport's growing businesses."
