HUNTER URGES WOODFORD RESIDENTS TO HAVE THEIR SAY

Head and shouldersCheadle constituency MP Mark Hunter has encouraged residents of Woodford to "have their say" on new proposals for the former BAE Systems site on Chester Road.

A special event is to be held at the former Aerodrome on Friday 25th May from 2pm to 7pm and local residents have been invited to attend. Representatives from Stockport Council, Avro Heritage (the owners of the site) and Harrow Estates (the developer) will all be present to answer questions.

Speaking before the event, Mark said:

"The plans have changed significantly from what was first proposed and now include a much bigger residential development aspect as well as a new school and a public house.

"Clearly there are implications for the established local community - not least on traffic impacts - and I am particularly keen to hear their views.

"I would encourage any Woodford resident, with an interest in the site, to get along on Friday and have their say. The views of local people are important and should be taken into account at each stage."
