Commenting, Wayne Jones said:

"It was a great pleasure to welcome Danny Alexander to our Company and discuss important issues relating to Engineering and Manufacturing. Progress in matters such as Apprenticeships and UK manufacturing need to be aligned between the Government and Industry."

After a visit to Manchester Withington to support Lib Dem colleague, John Leech MP, Danny was guest of honour at Cheadle constituency Lib Dem's Annual Dinner. Over a hundred supporters and party members came together to share dinner and listen to Danny speak on a number of subjects ranging from the Scottish independence referendum to EU membership.

Commenting after the event, Mark said:

'I am very grateful to Danny for taking time out of his incredibly busy schedule to visit Cheadle constituency.

'The business lunch was a great opportunity for local business people to talk directly with a senior member of the Government which I know they appreciated - while the discussion was detailed and searching, there was a general consensus that Cheadle constituency as a whole has weathered the difficult economic situation well and is now in prime position to make the most of the recovery.

'I am also much obliged to Wayne Jones of MAN Diesel for hosting Danny and I in the afternoon. As a European based multi-national company that invests so much time and money into young local apprentices, I think they provide yet further evidence of the vital importance of the UK having a close relationship with our European partners.
