The first of the annual festivals that take place each summer across Cheadle constituency took place on the last Saturday in June, in Heald Green. Hundreds of different stalls, rides and attractions were open for business and enjoyed by the large number of people that braved the overcast skies to attend.

Mark Hunter MP meets with stall holders at the Gatley Festival

The series of annual summer festivals not only provide a great family day out, they also raise considerable funds for a whole variety of good causes in the process. This coming weekend are the festivals and parades at Bramhall and Gatley.

Bramhall Festival's main event is taking place on Saturday 5th July, with a parade at 11:00am followed by an afternoon of family entertainment in and around the Methodist Church.

Gatley Carnival Parade and Funday Sunday is on Sunday 6th July, starting at 11:45am , followed by Family Fun Day at Gatley Hill, starting at 12:30pm.

Speaking at the Heald Green Festival local MP Mark Hunter said:

"I know that summer has really arrived when it's time again for the festivals! I had a great afternoon at Heald Green Festival with councillors Keith Holloway and Pam King; it was fantastic to see such a wide variety of different stalls and entertainments. We are so fortunate that there are so many local people that give up their time to organise these great events, helping to raise money for good causes and providing so much fun for the residents that come along.

"A huge thank you once again to the organisers of all the festivals; my fingers are crossed for good weather this weekend for Bramhall and Gatley."
