Mark Hunter MP said, "Thanks must go to Suresh Mehta for organising this public meeting and arranging for the police to discuss concerns with local people over recent burglaries.

"Under this coalition government, overall crime is down by more than 10% according to both the independent Crime Survey and police recorded crime. However, one crime is one too many in my book and I continue to raise residents concerns whenever I meet with local Police chiefs. We know that statistically Stockport remains one of the safest places in Greater Manchester - but there is never any room for complacency."

Suresh Mehta added, "It is really important that the public are reassured of the polices actions on the recent spate of burglaries. The police continue to advise and support residents on their actions and what we can do to prevent further crimes."
