Funding for our Community

Amongst these times of loneliness and uncertainty, it’s wonderful to hear about so many kind people coming together to help the most vulnerable in our area.

If you are somebody that is helping to organise a community group, did you know that there is funding available for you/your group?

Cheadle Liberal Democrats are happy to suggest two ways that you can apply for potential funding:

1. Area / Ward Flexibility Funding

Ward Councillors are responsible for a pot of money to be spent locally. They can turn decisions around quickly if needed. See the link below for more information and please do get in touch with your Councillors if you want somebody to talk this through with.

2. Stockport Local Fund

A new Stockport Local Fund has been set up to offer financial support to community organisations that are providing vital services during the Coronavirus pandemic. Grants of between £200 and £1000 will be available aimed at helping the people most affected by the pandemic. This includes older people, families and people on low incomes.

Groups can apply for anything they need to support people during the crisis e.g. food provision and parcels for vulnerable people, running costs, equipment, resources, volunteer expenses, emergency supplies, practical support, transport and other necessities.
