No 2 Nuisance Calls Petition

Cheadle MP Mark Hunter has launched a campaign to give people the power to say "no to nuisance phone calls" and is urging local residents to sign up to an online petition.

Since becoming an MP in 2005, Mark has been contacted by many local residents about the high volume of "nuisance" sales calls - some of which have turned out to be scams.

Commenting, Mark said:"Nuisance calls are not just irritating. For many people, particularly the elderly, they can be confusing or even threatening.

"People should be able to guarantee their privacy in an easy and effective way, and say "no" if they do not wish to be contacted.

"All good campaigns start with popular support -  and with  over 2,000 signatures already, I'm calling on people to back the campaign today and sign the petition below."
