Protect Our Green Spaces

Lib Dem campaigner, Tom Morrison has condemned plans by the Government that puts green spaces across Stockport and Cheshire at risk of being bulldozed and built on.

The changes mean the Government could ignore the decisions of local councils - and give developers the green light for developments on green belt that have been opposed by residents. Powers over planning rules will be taken away from Stockport Council and decided by inspectors in Westminster.

Tom Morrison said: “If these changes come into force then green spaces across our area are at risk of development.”

Protect our green spaces - say Lib Dems

The Lib Dems are opposing these changes. Our local green spaces are vital for the future of our communities and must be protected for future generations.

Petition to Oppose The Planning Law changes

I the undersigned oppose the Conservative Government’s proposals to change planning laws that will put our green spaces at risk of over development.  I want people to have a say on new developments.”
