SK8 named one of UK's burglary hotspots

SK8 has been named the eighth worst area for burglaries in the country, a report has found.

The study published by MoneySuperMarket has shown that the Cheadle area sits alongside the likes of Henley-in-Arden and Solihull for the most break-ins and thefts in the UK.

Tom Morrison, Liberal Democrat campaigner said of the news, "From talking to local residents and community groups, its clear that there is real concern at the growth in crime across Cheadle. It's no coincidence that burglaries, car thefts and violent crime has risen while the funding of our police forces get slashed year on year."

The Liberal Democrats in Cheadle have launched a petition to increase police funding in Cheadle and to focus expenditure on more community policing.

"We need more bobbies on the beat, a greater police presence where it matters - on our streets. The police do a fantastic job under awful financial pressures, it's time the Government gave them the backing they deserve." said Tom.
