Cllr Jilly Julian

Jilly Julian is a passionate community advocate and experienced local councillor, known for her practical approach, straight-talking style, and deep roots in Cheadle. Elected to represent Cheadle East and Cheadle Hulme North, Jilly lives locally with her husband and two children — giving her first-hand insight into the challenges and opportunities facing families in the area.

With a background in public policy and community engagement, Jilly brings a sharp focus to the big issues — whether it's protecting green spaces, improving local services, or standing up for residents facing complex social care and housing issues. As Cabinet Member for Finance & Resources, she has led efforts to balance Stockport’s budget during a time of national cuts, ensuring that frontline services remain protected.

Jilly is a familiar face in the community: from street surgeries and litter picks to school visits and PACT meetings with local police, she’s always keen to listen and act. She recently took on the role of Deputy Leader of Stockport’s Liberal Democrat Group, helping shape the borough’s future while staying grounded in the everyday concerns of residents.

In everything she does, Jilly works hard to make sure people feel heard — and that local government delivers on the things that matter.
