Local Lib Dem team

I’m delighted to introduce our Liberal Democrat candidates for the local elections on Thursday 7 May 2026 – an experienced and passionate team who are ready to keep standing up for people across the Cheadle constituency.

Our councillors and campaigners work tirelessly all year round, not just at election time. From tackling unfair housing plans and protecting our Green Belt, to supporting local businesses, improving transport links, and defending vital local services, they’re the people who get things done for our communities.

Here’s your Lib Dem team so far for 2026:

Cllr Dallas Jones – Bramhall South & Woodford (restanding)

Dallas has been a tireless voice for Bramhall and Woodford, standing up for residents on issues that matter most to our villages. She’s worked closely with local people to resist inappropriate housing developments, protect the countryside around Woodford, and improve road safety across Bramhall. Whether it’s helping to keep our community spaces vibrant or pushing for better infrastructure, Dallas is deeply rooted in the area and always ready to listen to residents’ concerns.

Cllr Dallas Jones

She has championed local schools, community groups and volunteers, helping to bring people together and strengthen community ties. Jilly has also spoken up for residents affected by local flooding and transport changes, ensuring that their views are properly considered. She combines energy, empathy and experience – and she’s passionate about keeping Cheadle and Cheadle Hulme thriving.

Ian has been at the forefront of efforts to tackle traffic problems and protect local green spaces, while making sure residents’ voices are heard in Stockport Town Hall. He’s passionate about keeping Gatley and Cheadle great places to live and work.

Cllr Helen Foster-Grime – Cheadle Hulme South (restanding)

Helen has represented Cheadle Hulme South for many years and continues to be one of the most dedicated local voices on Stockport Council. She has fought to protect the character of Cheadle Hulme, supported initiatives to make our neighbourhoods greener and safer, and stood up for families and small businesses. Helen’s deep roots in the community and her track record of delivery make her a trusted and respected councillor who always puts residents first.

Alice is also committed to standing up for local families and small businesses who are feeling the pressure of the cost-of-living crisis. She’s focused on practical solutions to help our community thrive, from supporting local shops to improving public transport and green spaces.
