Stunning gains for Lib Dems in local elections

The Liberal Democrats made stunning gains across our constituency in the local elections last week, gaining an extra five seats at the expense of the Conservatives. The Liberal Democrats now hold 16 of the 21 council seats in Cheadle constituency to the Conservatives 0.

Parliamentary candidate Tom Morrison welcomed the results, "Last Friday was a fantastic day for the Liberal Democrats, both nationally and locally, we've made huge gains at the expense of the Conservatives and even wiped them from Stockport Council for the first time in history. It is clear the local people are fed up with this Conservative government and are turning to the Liberal Democrats in ever-increasing numbers to get the change our area so badly needs. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported our fantastic candidates last week"
